Please inform us of your height along with inseam measurement when you make your booking. We use this information to find the right-size bike for you.
Biker or rider inseam refers to the measurement of the length from the crotch to the ground while standing with knees unbent, of a person who is wearing biking or cycling gear. It is an important measurement to consider when selecting appropriate bike frame sizes or determining the proper positioning of a rider on a bicycle. By knowing the biker inseam, it becomes easier to ensure a comfortable and efficient riding experience by adjusting seat height and leg extension.
We do provide helmets but please note that these are standard sized communal helmets. We recommend bringing your own helmet for a better fit.
No, we don’t provide SPD pedals. If you prefer riding with cleats, we recommend bringing your own SPD pedals. Our guide will be happy to help fit them to your bike.
No, there is no need to bring bike tools or locks. We have all the necessary tools and locks with us. However, if you are bringing your own bike and it requires any special tools for repairs, please bring those along.
Yes, you may bring your own saddle. Our guide will help you fix your saddle onto the bike.
Yes, we provide regular bottles, but they are not sippers. We recommend that you bring your own bottles to help reduce plastic waste. Art of Bicycle Trips is committed to sustainable travel and we constantly endeavor to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible on each tour.
Your itinerary indicates which meals are covered and which are chargeable. The majority of your meals are included in the itinerary, and our guides have carefully planned dining options for each destination.
Please inform us about your food allergies while booking the tour. We will communicate all your dietary restrictions to our local guides who are native to the region and familiar with the regional cuisine and ingredients. They will assist you in selecting appropriate dishes that do not contain any ingredient that you are allergic to.
We take care to accommodate our guests' specific dietary needs. Our experienced guides are there to assist you in making suitable selections from the menu. In cases where language barriers may exist, our guides are happy to communicate your dietary requirements to the restaurant staff.
For meals that are included in the itinerary, our guide will recommend dishes based on your preference. Depending on the options available on specific days, our guide pre-orders the meal, while on others, guests are free to make your own selection from the menu. For meals included in the itinerary, our guide will take care of the bill. However, guests are expected to tip the hotel/restaurant staff.
On some days, our guides eat with the guests, while on other days they may not. This again depends on the eating arrangements specific to the itinerary. However, if you require privacy and wish to eat with your own group without the guide or support staff accompanying you, you can always inform the guide of the same and they will be happy to dine separately.
Our guides are trained in basic first aid and carry first aid kits with them. They are also familiar with the nearest hospitals on our cycling routes. In case of emergencies, we can always use our support van to drive guests to the nearest hospital.
For self-guided tours, guests can get in touch with our local representatives via WhatsApp or through their phone numbers shared with them in case of an emergency. Our local representative will assess the situation and act accordingly.
We do not provide pannier bags. Handlebar bags and/or saddle bags may be available for some tours. Please check with your travel advisor for the same.
The minimum number of people required to guarantee a departure depends on the destination, and is mentioned on our website. Please check the trip you are interested in to find out the minimum number of people required to guarantee that particular departure.
We encourage all our guests to ride at their own pace. Our guide and support van working in tandem will ensure that all the riders are taken care of during the ride.
We usually allow experienced riders to ride ahead of the pack with the support van, while our guides ride with the guests at the rear, accompanying them and ensuring their safety.
The maximum number of riders is available on our website for each trip. The guest to guide ratio varies by destination. Please consult your travel advisor for the same.
Yes, you’re on a holiday, and we’d love for you to click all the pictures you want!
If you’ve booked a private trip, it may be possible to arrange a detour to visit places of interest along the way that are not a part of the itinerary, as long as we can return to our pre-booked accommodation for the night on time.
It would be helpful if you could let us know prior to the start of your trip about visiting any attractions not listed in the itinerary.
For group tours, any departures from the itinerary are subject to the consent of other members of the group.
For all our guided tours, a support van accompanies our riders every day. If at any point of time you no longer feel like riding, you can always rest in the van, while the other members of the group can continue biking.
If all members of the group wish to end the day’s riding earlier than scheduled, everyone can load their bikes and we can drive to our next destination for the day.
The vast majority of our guests are between 50-70 years of age.
Yes, all our guides speak fluent English, besides their own native tongue(s). We only work with guides who are native to the regions we run our bike tours in.
The start time for each day may vary depending on the weather/climate and distance to be covered on that day. Your guide will brief you about the start time before each day’s riding.
Guided Bike Tours
We do not provide routes via GPX files or other downloadable formats for our guided tours. A detailed overview of the route is explained in the travel planner shared with you prior to departure. The guides will also brief you about the route the evening before a day’s riding.
Self-guided bike tours
For self-guided tours, we share GPX files of routes.
Please limit your luggage to one soft-sided medium-sized suitcase and one carry-on bag. Mark your luggage with your name, address and phone number.
