A well organised, enjoyable cycling experience. Local guide knew all the best sights and experiences. A very good variety of accommodation. So highly recommended by me.

Brilliant way of seeing the real countryside. Our guide was absolutely fantastic and the scenery was stunning. We loved our bike tour and would recommend it to anyone wanting to see the rural villages and real countryside. A good alternative to the big tourist cities.

We loved the small group. The guides were flexible to our needs and wants. Some days we were ready to be done biking in hot, humid weather and go to the hotel pool and have a beer! The guides went out of their way to help us interact with local people, food and experiences. Fantastic trip that exceeded our expectations! Looking forward to Southern India next!

We have done 2 trips with The Art of Bicycling-first in Rajasthan and second in Vietnam and Cambodia.
They were both excellent from very interesting rides to incredibly good accommodations. In all cases the guides and drivers were excellent and the trips provided a deep cultural experience in addition to an intimate and fun trip.
I rarely give five stars but in this case there was almost nothing that we wish had been different.

A wonderful experience- the perfect way to experience Vietnam and Cambodia. The bike guides were enthusiastic and flexible so the trip was relaxed and tailored to our needs. We never felt pressured to bike more or less than we wanted to. Safety and comfort were a top priority. Accommodations were very nice and comfortable especially considering we were in some rural areas. Bike quality was very good and bike mechanics excellent at getting the bikes adjusted for maximum comfort. We really liked the overall vibe which was accommodating but not too much handholding that sometimes occur on tours. Overall we had a great time!

a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our guide was superb, very good while we were cycling and very knowledgeable when we were visiting cultural sites. He was also very funny and keen to make sure nothing got in the way of a good time. Our itinerary worked very well, with manageable amounts of riding each day. It was a very hot time of year and we were fairly exhausted at the end of the day. But, there was always a cold beer ready in the van when we finished riding.

Accommodation was great, loved the boutique hotels. And the cuisine was always good and mostly excellent. We loved the whole experience, and made some new friends in the process.

Tony was our Tour Guide and Hiro was our driver. We could not have had better people to travel with, they were so caring, considerate and super informative but also (very important to us) great fun! Our trip was unique as it was just my husband and I on tour and so we were able to tailor our journey day by day based on how we felt with the heat but I feel that the Art of Bicycle Trips would look after anyone and everyone as best they could. The accommodation was amazing (close to 5 star), and far superior to anything we expected for a cycling tour (but very gratefully received at the end of a long, hot day). We would recommend the Art of Bicycle Trips to anyone.

Excellent trip and expertly organized. I would recommend to anyone for any region they were interested in.

Our favourite city was Hoi An, picturesque and lovely at night. Least liked was the garbage everywhere. Pace and distances cycled were comfortable. Vien took us to meet his sister in a small farming village oneof the days. The ride was challenging but one of the most beautiful of the trip, and spending a lunchtime with his family was truly special. Appreciated that Vien brought us to mostly local restaurants with examples of real Vietnamese food, not just touristy food. The breakfasts at the hotels were excellent.

The bike tour was good, though we would not recommend doing it during Tet. Much of the time (because of Tet) there was too much motorbike traffic, which is noisy and difficult to navigate. We had great guides, who provided us with lots of information about Vietnam and also listened closely to our expressed preferences. Hotels, for the most part, were well selected and very comfortable. We visited a number of historic sites and learned a lot about Vietnamese history. I recommend this tour company, and think it’s a good value for the price.

We toured the back roads in the Mekong Delta. We loves the friendly people, the beautiful shaded paths, the village way of life that could only be seen from the ground level. It was a very memorable tour that endeared Vietnam to us in our hearts forever.

My husband and I booked this trip based on length of riding days/distances and cycling south to north (we were heading north on business). We were able to customize the options to suit and decided to open the trip to anyone else that wanted to join our dates and destinations.

I cannot speak highly enough of Phuc (Happiness) our guide and Mr Hien our driver. Nothing was too much trouble. Phuc came from a rice farming family and could give us great insight into the country through which we passed. Combined with having studied, lived in a big city and speaking English, he was well able to give us current information about the country and it’s customs both old and new.

Our route took us on the back roads and tracks used only by locals. We were able to experience the local way of life first hand. There were days our faces ached from smiling and saying hello to everyone. The genuine warmth and friendliness will not be quickly forgotten.

Our accommodation surpassed expectations and just got better as the days progressed. In summary, a 5 Star experience at a very reasonable price.

We are a Norwegian couple at age 60 years+ and have today come home from a great adventure in Vietnam. We tok part in a tour from Saigon to Hanoi. The bike tour lasted 8 days and gave us a varied insight of different regions in South and Central Vietnam. Our bike-guide Phuc was extraordinary both in guiding us in the biking, but he also had great knowledge of past and present Vietnam and was a great storyteller. We visited the rainforest, Dailat, Hoi Anh and Hue and spent the last 3 days on a cruise in Halong Bay. Vietnamese people are very friendly and Vietnam is a beautiful country!

Our 14 day tour from Saigon to Hanoi in our group of 6 people was a great experience with the best tour leader, Phuc, a most wonderful, caring and very, very knowledgable young man, plus a great bus driver. We could not have asked for a better team (or family) as Phuc called us.
The tour consisted of a good mix of cycling and bus, most on flat back roads and through some superb scenery in the mountainous areas with some strenuous uphill roads and one with the most exhilarating 30km descent.
We were Phuc’s first group of over 60yo’s. Though we were all capable cyclists, we are not cycling junkies. It was sad to say goodbye to our ‘family’.

We (group of 6) had an excellent 10 day trip through the by-ways of the Mekong and some of the highlights of Cambodia.

Phuc was our guide through the Mekong Delta. He navigated us through a maze of back alleys, local ferry rides and winding paths with lots of great info about the local area and the people.

After a fast ferry up the Mekong to Cambodia we toured Phnom Penh, then the back roads, guided by Heng. Heng was excellent at introducing us to the backroads, the local people and a bit of the nightlife. He adapted to our interests really well making for a really excellent trip. Our drivers, the accomodation, the bikes and overall organisation were all superb.

Our trip went incredibly well and was fun from start to finish. Our Guide Tan Phuc was fantastic and read the groups ability and interest well. His english was very good and we were able to share a joke as well as learn a lot about the country as we biked along. All of the accomodation was perfect as well as the different restaurants we went to for lunch and dinner. I would have no trouble recommending Phuc as a guide and the Company as a whole. We spent all of our time travelling on small local footpaths so never really had to contend with any of the hectic traffic which was just what we were after. The paths were also generally surrounded by vegetation making it cooler that being out on the open roads in the heat of the day. The timing was also very good so we never spent any time waiting for a connection or the bus at the end of the day.

My husband and I did this as the kick off to our three week honeymoon in SE Asia.
We were able to pare down the bike tour to 7 to fit our needs and Ly was very helpful with booking/paying. Our guide, Quang, for Vietnam met us with the van at our friends apartment in the city and was immediately welcoming and friendly. Throughout the tour he made sure we were well fed and hydrated and was exceptional at making sure we experienced Vietnams countryside and people.

We met with Sum, our Phnom Penh guide who got us to lunch, explained a lot of the countries history and current state add gave us a knowledgable tour of Tuol Sleng. He was great as was our driver who would be with us til the end of our trip.

Our guide in Siem Reap was Jerry who was great, knew how to time the Angkor Wat (and surrounding) visits so as not to be swamped by all the other tourists doing the same and he was quite funny and personable. He also gave good advice on things to do in Siem Reap!

All in all it was a great way to see Vietnam and Cambodia! It can be hard to access the good stuff when you don’t speak the language so to have someone looking out for us was nice and biking the mazes of rice paddies and country roads put us in touch with a part of the world many westerners don’t see. It was tough going sometimes due to the heat, skinny roads and (let’s be real) butt bruising and wrist ache but it felt worth it.

The transport was effortless and the hotels were all really (mostly amazing) nice except Chau Doc, which was a big room but pretty spare and the food was suited for (apparently) westerners who did not want to be challenged remotely. It was an oddity in an otherwise great trip though and I can think of many friends I’ll be recommending this tour to anybody.

We thank you so much for the outstanding experience!
